Halton Lea Recycle Cards for The Woodland Trust

Halton Lea Shopping Centre teamed up with Tesco, WH Smith and Hillview Primary School to collect as many Christmas cards as possible during January for The Woodland Trust. I am pleased to report that over three and a half a tonnes of cards were collected! ‘Bee Aware’ commitment demonstrated at Halton Lea

Halton Lea Shopping Centre Deputy Centre Manager, Lindsay Bellis is taking their 2009 marketing Campaign extremely serious. She has swapped her Ford ST220 for the new Ford ‘Econetic’ Fiesta in a bid to show her committment to the Bee Aware campaign. Lindsay stated, “some people think I have gone crazy but throughout the year I am working with numerous Runcorn Primary schools and cannot arrive in a uneconomical vehicle. Hillview School continue their Recycling project at Waste Works!

Year two from Hillview Primary School visited Waste Works today as part of their Recycling project with Halton Lea Shopping Centre and their Bee Aware Campaign. Waste Works is a purpose built recycling education centre in Manchester where 7-11 year olds can learn about sustainable living and see the recycling in action. Waste Works is based at the Co-operative’s recycling centre, the largest in-house office waste recycling centre in the UK. Waste paper from the group’s head offices is taken to .. [ more ]

Recycler the Robot pays a visit to Hillview School

Recycler the Robot visited Hillview School this week. The visit completes the month long project on “Recycling” that  Hillview Primary School undertook with Halton Lea Shopping Centre as part of their Bee Aware Campaign. Recycler’s fun, interactive shows communicate the ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ message to children between the ages of 5 – 11 and show pupils what they can do to put the 3R’s into practice at home and at school. Busy bees help save energy

Environmentally aware pupils at Hillview Primary School have been throwing their weight behind Halton Lea Shopping Centre’s Bee Aware Campaign. Pupils at the Runcorn School took full advantage of their left over festive materials by holding a Christmas Tree Recycle Day in association with Widnes Skip and Recycle.Children, parents and teaching staff from the school are now being encouraged to collect their old Christmas cards for recycling by the end of January in support of The Woodland Trust. Halton Lea Shopping Centre will be the first business in the Borough of Halton to introduce a pioneering safety scheme which offers a hotline number to assist parents and guardians in finding children who have been separated from them whilst out shopping.
